Earthquake in COSTA RICA:
Today, Thursday January 8th, at 13:22 pm an Earthquake of 6.2 has caused
terrible damages in the north central valley of Costa Rica.
We strongly recommend you DO NOT visit the
Poas Volcano
National Park area in the province of Alajuela during the next weeks,
Vara Blanca road, including the road to Cataratas de la Paz "La Paz
Waterfalls", Fraijanes and Sarapiquí area near Poas Volcano.
Weather in Costa Rica through December and
January, 2009.
December seems to be better about
the wheather in Costa Rica, since the last two weeks of November, the bad wheather conditions coming from
the Atlantic Ocean affected Costa Rica´s territory again. Agriculture areas,
banana plantations, bridges, roads, houses etc. were destroyed by the water,
It was 15 years that the water
overflow many places on the caribbean territory of Costa Rica.
Based on the last report (November
30th, 2008) from the CNE (National Emergencies Commission of Costa Rica)
over 4.600 persons have left the Shelter Houses provided by the Costa Rica´s
Government to return home, they still have 18 Shelter Houses working with
more than 1000 persons affected by the bad weather in the Caribbean cost of
Costa Rica.
The
Instituto Metereologíco of Costa Rica (Forecast Institute of Costa Rica) has
reported that probably we´ll have a change in the weather conditions soon,
it seems that we can have this change after December between December 10th and December 15th.
Here at Service Car Rental we hope having a quick wheather transition from
Winter to Summer soon, so we can just celebrate the new year with sunny and
windy days for January.
Traffic Conditions on the Caribbean Territory
beginning December.
The route 32 from San José city to Limón area it was closed for almost 2
weeks ending November and during December it will be open but the official
authorities have recommend us being very careful about the road conditions through
this road, and we recommend to the travelers verify the traffic conditions
at least one day before your trip to that zone.
Christmas Holidays and Summer in Costa Rica.
Now in December and January is good time to visit Costa Rica and we strongly
recommend you make reservations for rental car in advance, since most people
wants to travel during these months, Costa Rican people also is looking for
vacations for these dates. The Super high season for most tourism services
in Costa Rica usually starts in December 20th to January 10th. Herradura
beach, Manuel Antonio and Jaco are the most visited places trough the
pacific coast. In Guanacaste, most visitors enjoy the beaches of Tamarindo,
Flamingo, Conchal, Samara and Nosara in Nicoya.
